Women are already asking your pharmacy team for help
Community pharmacists are often among the first healthcare professionals women approach for advice about menopause.
They may ask about:
- Hot flushes.
- Sleep problems.
- Mood changes.
- Brain fog.
- Vaginal discomfort.
- Weight changes.
- Bone health.
- Supplements.
- Menopausal hormone therapy.
- Whether what they are experiencing is “normal”.
Community pharmacists are often the first healthcare professionals women approach for advice about menopause.
Yet women are still experiencing delays in receiving helpful information, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support.
Community pharmacy teams are ideally placed to help close that gap.
The challenge is not a lack of care.
It is having the right knowledge, language and referral pathways when the conversation begins.

Why Menopause Education Matters in Pharmacy
Women experiencing perimenopause and menopause may interact with their pharmacy more frequently than almost any other healthcare setting.
Pharmacy teams play an important role to:
- Recognise when symptoms may require further assessment.
- Provide trusted and evidence-based information.
- Support safe and informed treatment conversations.
- Identify potential medication concerns.
- Recommend appropriate referral pathways.
- Challenge common myths and misinformation.
- Help women feel heard rather than dismissed.
The value is not knowing everything
The value is knowing how to respond
Without clear training, a menopause conversation can feel uncertain.
You may wonder:
- Is this within my scope?
- What should I ask?
- When should I refer?
- What language should I use?
Menopause Discovery helps you build the foundational knowledge to approach these conversations with confidence.
The goal is not to turn every pharmacy team member into an expert overnight.
The goal is to make the next patient conversation better than the last one.
